Bio

Joshua Epps is the Program Manager for the Men of Color, Honor, and Ambition (M.O.C.H.A.) and Women of Color, Honor, and Ambition (W.O.C.H.A.) mentorship programs in the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The M.O.C.H.A. and W.O.C.H.A. programs provide direct student success resources to middle school, high school, and undergraduate students. 


Before joining the University of Virginia, Epps received degrees including a B.A. in Psychology, a Minor in Child Development and Family Relations (East Carolina University), and Masters of Education in School Psychology and Counseling Services (Howard University). His professional history includes positions, such as a Charter and Public School educator in grades 4-12, School Counselor in grades K-12, High School & College Coach/Personal Trainer, President of The Howard University School of Education, Howard University Student Marshall, Co-Founder of award-winning East Carolina University non-profit organization M.U.V.E. (Motivating & Uplifting Via Exercise), College Level Teacher Assistant in The E.C.U. Department of Child Development and Family Relations, and E.C.U. Admissions Counselor working with the Senior Associate Director.


Joshua strives to provide others with a foundation of support, displaying highly effective leadership strategies to reach an individual's ultimate potential. It is his passion to uplift others and see them achieve their endeavors. Additionally, Joshua is a North Carolina native who loves to spend time with his fraternity brothers (Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.), working out, focusing on holistic wellness, and keeping up with the latest music and fashion. Joshua is currently writing his dissertation to receive a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership (Higher Education Administration).
