Shai-Quana Sawyer

Shai is the Events and Programming Assistant in the Division for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In this role, she is responsible for planning and executing some of the division’s signature events, including the annual community concerts. She also supports other DDEI programming, including the Community MLK Celebration and MOCHA/WOCHA events. Prior to joining the team in October 2022, Shai worked at James Monroe’s Highland in Charlottesville, supporting public and private events on the property.

Shai graduated from the University of Virginia in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, double majoring in Speech Communication Disorders and English.
